Bye Bye Bugzie

Yesterday we found that my sister's Christmas gift, Bugzie the Fish, was no more. I personally think this might be karma getting Andrea for trying to "pet" my fish five years ago which inadvertently led to the fish being dropped on the floor. Not bitter though.

My family has an abnormally high number of horrible pet death stories. My parents kept buying them for us for some reason. My dad must have had a "buy 20 get one free" punch card or something. One would think that a family with five girls would have nothing but sweet pet stories about hamsters, fish, and kittens, but no. We have death by swimming pool, death by roller blade, self-inflicted death, death by marshmallow, death by rat poison, death by small children that were staying at our house, the list goes on.

A classic family home video with our first ever "pet."
Many thanks to my mother for translating Michelle's speech impediments.

I don't think Lucy realizes how lucky she is. We have had her for a successful seven years. The other day, I gave her the benefit of the doubt and let her off her leash. She ended up running into a fortunately not-so-busy street. This caused me to make a ridiculous dash after her while formulating in my head what my family would do if I left the house with a dog that was just excited for a car ride and returned with a less-than-lively lucy lump. Luckily, she was fine. I was fine. It was fine.

We Stolworthys love our pets and I think that might be part of the problem. We love them too hard and it kills them.

"Adventure Is Out There!"

I'm sleeping at my parents house tonight. My dog just came and woke me up in the guest room and told me she needed to go outside. So I'm waiting up for her return.
This is my dog eating a waffle. Irrelevant. I just like the picture.

Today was a beautiful day. I bet it's because I left my blinds open last night. I must have some of that moonlight magic. For the rest of this post I just ask of you, my readers, one thing: Please listen to this song while you read. I promise it will do you good. Promise.

First, I was serenaded at work by a small visitor at my window.

Later, our company closed early because the executives rented a theater so we could all go see Harry Potter.

Maria loves themed social outings.

I went to go see the UP house again. This time I went to go see how well they secure the premise. I am determined to go up there with a bean bag chair and my computer and watch the movie on the porch some night.

"I was hiding under your porch because I love you."

"Are you in need of any assistance today sir?"

Then I took a walk with my sister and we found someone eavesdropping on us.

Finally, I took a very bubbly bubble bath.

No complaints.

Youngest Child Syndrome?

I recently read an article about birth order for my social work class.  I didn't think any of the descriptions really fit my family until I got to the youngest child.

They’re natural charmers with an outgoing, social personality; no surprise then that many famous actors and comedians are the baby of the family.  Youngest also make a play for the spotlight with their adventurousness. Free-spirited lastborns are more open to unconventional experiences and taking physical risks than their siblings

Today I was looking through some of my old videos from a few years back.  My youngest sister is always front and center and I'm pretty sure she is almost always wearing pink. Girl's got sass. To her credit, most of these were taken three years ago. On a side note, I think my favorite Andrea story happened right before I moved out and went to college. She told me never to wet the bed and always think about Jesus. Words to live by.

ps. Julie taught her the dance moves.
